Job Summary
The Registered Nurse, operating room, provides nursing care and service during surgery cases. The RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. Experienced in surgical procedures in the following specialties: Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology.

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse, operating room, provides nursing care and service during surgery cases. The RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. Experienced in surgical procedures in the following specialties: Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology.
- Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patient recovery, assess vital signs, and recognize any signs of complications.
- Administer medications, including pain management, per physician orders.
- Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
- Ensure compliance with all infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist in emergency situations, demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families throughout the recovery process.

Required Skills:
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in post-surgical nursing procedures, including pain management and wound care.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards.
- Skilled in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in emergency situations.
- Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in post-surgical, PACU, or acute care nursing preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of pain management protocols and post-operative care best practices.
