Every year in September, nursing professional development practitioners around the world celebrate Nursing Professional Development Week. NPD Week is September 15-21, 2019.

NPD practitioners make a positive impact every day by providing nurses with quality education throughout all stages of their careers and ensure that our nurses and the organization are recognized for quality, evidence-based practice, and patient safety.

Nursing professional development practitioners who are members of ANPD-Houston provide programs at numerous healthcare institutions in the greater Houston area such as:

• Orientation and transition to practice programs
• Competency assessment
• Continuing education contact hours
• Education on the use of new equipment, policies, and procedures
• Coordination of student affiliations
