Using Simulation to Impact the Patient Experience:
A Graduate Nurse Residency Initiative

Learning Outcome: Registered Nurses will actively participate in the activity discussion of the implementation and outcome of a simulation based training program for nurse residents with actual patients participating as standardized patients focused on relationship building and therapeutic communication techniques to improve the patient experience, as reflected in Press-Ganey patient satisfaction scores and post-learning feedback with bedside shift report functioning as the clinical case. RNs will indicate intent to change practice on their post activity evaluation tool.
University of Texas Medical Branch Continuing Nursing Education is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association - Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Nurses who attend this presentation will receive 1.0 continuing nursing education contact hours.
